Pan Tamni

As Pan Tamni, on tap. Brown bodied with big brownish head that lasted for ages. Caramel, toasted malt, somewhat sweet aroma. Flavor was slightly sweet caramel and sugar, also roasted coffee to lesser degree. Medium to thin in body, with short, simple toasted finish. Some nuts here as well. Expected better, but not bad for the local standards.

I’ve heard about this some time ago and I knew they were offering it at Zagreb Arena during the Medveščak hockey matches, then a friend told me they had it on tap at his local bar "Eden" in Zagreb. Pours black with creamy strong off-white head that lasted very long, which makes it a very good looking Dunkel. Aroma is rather weak, just some hints of caramel and roasted barley. It tastes nice although it lacks confidence, milky, chocolatey, a little watery, full mouthfeel, creamy. No real finish. Quite a nice surprise, I’ll love to have it now and then.

Draught at Caffe Bar Dobardan, Velika Gorica. Dark brown coloured with red glare, medium sized off-white head, light malty caramel nose. Sweet malty, caramel and mild nutty taste with slight metallic notes. Also hint of chocolate in the finish. Not bad at all.

Draught at Caffe (sic!) Bar dobardan, Velika Gorica. There have been rumors about it for over a year, brewed specially for the Ice Fever series of matches in Zagreb by the Medveščak hockey club and I’m damn surprised, positively, to see it elsewhere. It poured a very dark red body, with a lasting off white head. Malty nose, slightly fruity but generally empty. Empty sweetish malty taste, creamy but devoid of any normal characteristics of the style. Just empty. Carlsberg Croatia has been making some of the more palatable macro stuff here recently, bit disappointed that they failed here, but this is still a big step forward for the macro scene so thumbs up in that department!
