I couldn’t pick any aroma out of this one - perhaps it was served too cold at the brewpub? Very little head and a dark burgundy colour. Taste is an odd mix of fish and malted barley, very off-putting. Palate was allright however. Not a good stout or dark beer by any measure.

Very nice. My favorite of the 4. Had a second pint of this one.

Draft at the brewpub. Dark brown color with a good tan head. Rich malty aroma. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Heavy dark caramel flavor with sweet darkish fruit. Finishes less than dry, and a bit gritty. Nice.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a diminished off-white head. Light roasted aroma and mild spiced, roasted malty flavour with a nice spiced note with a whiff of annis seed like liqourice, light phenolic yeasty on the back of the nose. Lingering light roasted finish.

Draught at the brewpub
Black color with red shades; creamy head. It can be compared to the Ambrée, as it’s quite ordinary; this one has a character more on the chocolate malt than the caramel; luckily this one as well has some residual sweetness (appreciated); the hop is delicate and quite hidden, but not bad; at the end it has a very light aftertaste of cereals; and it’s not lightly spoiled as the Ambrée. Pleasant.
