XXX-Bitter is a variation on the existing XX-bitter, where we add an additional 50% more hops.

Taste: Full-bodied bitter beer. Despite its higher IBU-value, the large amount of aroma-hops makes this beer taste smoother than XX.

Many thanks for this beer to tderoeck. Porzadnie i intensywnie nachmielone jest to piwo. Pachnie glownie natka pietruszki. Trwala i mocno oblepia szklo.

Bottle, 11C. Almost bright gold with a large white head that lasts well. Aroma of the meadow, under-ripe nectarines, oranges, crackers. Light bodied, high carbonation is maybe a bit too high for me (and better - creamier - after a swirl). Fruity and bittersweet with crackers verging on biscuit, oranges, nectarines, the meadow. Some tropical bubblegum, a touch of menthol. Doesn’t come across as as bitter as XX and is confusingly both softer and more pungent. Second glass is barely hazier than the first - the sludgy sediment is very co-operative. Stunning.

F: huge, white, good retention. C: pale gold, light hazy. A: malty, grassy, herbal, oranges, lemon, floral, tonic water, bit of yeast. T: malty, grassy, oranges, grapefruit, floral, yeast, long lasting bitterness on the palate, apple, light soapy, medium body, medium carbonation, the bitterness is really nice in the way I like it, the XX was great for me and this XXX also, #1000 Belgium beer, 75cl bottle from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou.

Light hazy golden with white foam on top. Powerful hop profile with some dry tea notes. Background honey and light cracker malt. Medium bodied with a lightly dry finish. Solid.

Bottle. Etre Gourmet. Pale yellow. Soft haze. Thin, dense, lasting, bright white head. Nose is big on the bready, sweet Belgian yeast. Flowery and peachy. Some mineral. Some chalkiness. Taste has a fleeting, bready sweetness. Then there’s a lot of grassy, leafy bitterness. Hop oily mouthfeel. Massaging and foamy at the same time. Long, grassy, leafy bitter finish. Missus found this too bitter. Result! More for me.
