This NW style sour ale is a strong blond ale aged in chardonnay barrels for up to 12 months, then aged with dried white figs and lemon peel or up to 12 more months. Aromas of sweet figs, golden raisins, and citrus zest are the first to be noticed. Hints of white wine grapes, lemon peel, and sweet figs roll across the palate, leading to a crisp lemon tartness in the finish that leaves a lingering sweetness on the tongue.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a medium frothy off white head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is apricot, citrus, funk, and vinegar. Thin mouthfeel with a white grape flavor and lemon with light vinegar. Good.

Sampled at EBF. 750ml bottle pours a clear, honey gold with some thin, white head. Nose is wonderful and inviting, apricot, honey, green fig, white grape, a little butterscotch, some neutral oak, a little minerality. Flavor is tart and light sweet, white grape, unripened peach, apricot, green fig, light honey, flower petals, some citrus pith, a little touch of funk, wood shavings, apple cider. Acetic only to the point of being refreshing. Incredibly drinkable.

Courtesy of dak. It pours hazy sort of copper with gold hues and the body supports an off white head of foam. The aroma seems to emit a pleasing apricot, vinegar and lemon juice sensation that all seem to come together very nicely. The taste delivers rich and inviting (if this makes any sense, I don’t really know) vinegar notes as well as a bit of funk to sour notes mixing with apple skins and apricot bits. Pretty nice stuff.

This is the LP version of this on tap at City Beer Store. The young and old were on tap but we chose this variant. $6 for the pour and shared with the GF after buying our bottles.
A - Dark orange, slight haze and almost no head at all. More of a burnt orange appearance with hints of red
S - Lots of barnyard funk on the nose. Light and floral characters. Tropical as well.
T - Very vinous like a grape juice from Welch’s. Tannins and grape skin acidity. Sweet finish. No oaky taste at all. Less acidic than expected.
M - Not much carbonation at all. I guess this is because this was kegged last year and is a left over version of last year’s original batch so should be less carbonated.
O - This taste makes me very excited for the bottled version. It’s looking to be a very nice beer and one we’ll get to enjoy at a tasting in a few weeks.

Draft. Amber beer with a nice cream colored head. Sour/lactic aroma with light malt. Nice acetic/lactic flavor with sour notes, malt, and fruitiness. Medium bodied. Nice acetic/lactic sour lingers with nice frutiiness and light malt.
