Straying off the beaten track for the latest in our single hop series we have chosen Styrian Wolf, newly released this year from Slovenia. This is a fantastic hop to showcase a lesser known hop growing region and also brought about real intrigue and interest to our brewing team on its ultimate selection.
With notes of berries, tropical fruits and citrus, IPA fans will be pleased to know that this beer ticks every box in terms of what is expected from an IPA and yet still is unique in every way.

Pours slightly hazy golden color, topped with a medium sized white head, slowly swttling. Pelasant aroma of sweet fruits, elderflower and some flowers, typical wolf nose. Moderate bitterness throughout, in the end some fruity presence can be felt, a bit sparkly (soda like). Lasting bittery aftertaste. Lighter body. Nice, fresh and very drinkable.

Bottle, big bubbly slightly dense head, clear darkish gold color, aroma of very ripe fruit, orange blossom and a light malty backbone, flavor of overipe fruit, slightly coarse medium herbal bitterness, sweetish maltiness. Nice and drubkable but quite unrefined.

Bottle from Sheridan’s in Zagreb. Thanks Hrabren! Poured a slightly hazy golden body with a tiny white head. Citric fruity aroma, vague berry, light herbal touch, soft. Soft taste, creamy raspberry notes, very light bitterness, a touch of grean, some dry bitterness. Actually a nice beer, not bad for a 5% single hop ale. I kinda like this hop I guess.

0.5 l bottle at Sheridan’s Irish Pub, Zagreb, Croatia. Shared with Marko. Clear golden, small diminishing white head. Medium hopped, citrus, grassy, floral, resin, light skunky. Light bitter, also some maltiness and floral flavors. Light to medium body, soft to medium carbonation, light hoppy finish. Average English IPA, aromatic with a nice use of hops, some compromising here and there.

Bottle. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of hops, "green", somewhat skunky, a bit fruity. Flavor is grainy, rather dry, slightly sweetish, with bitter hops, "green", slightly lemony, with a light skunky note. Light to medium-bodied. Kinda OK.
