We brewed a small family of APAs to introduce you to the might and endless possibilities of aroma hops. The same style, the same recipe, but featuring different varieties of US hops. For each batch we added the starring hop to the boil and dry hopping as well. The most exciting thing is to get acquainted with all the brothers at once, but one to one introduction would be equally appropriate. So, meet Citra. Tropical fruity rebel, full of distinct notes of passion fruit, melon, lime and grapefruit.

200ml on tap, 6 % abv, at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri, beers for Ukraine TTO. Stable white head, hazy orange-gold body, fair lacing. Bread and citrus on the nose. Citrus, herbal hops, and grain to the taste profile followed by a rounded ending with a piney bite. Medium bodied. Quite alright. (Tromsø 03.06.2022).

330ml bottle as part of a delivery from from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds as part of the Drinkers for Ukraine initiative. Light gold and clear with a wisp of white head. White grapefruit pith, bready malts, herbal notes on the aroma. Taste is somewhat sweet at first and noticeably malt-led with some white grape, leading to a fairly intense hop bitterness lasting through the long finish. Slight body and carbonation. A nicely put-together APA that is quite different from the run of the mill examples of the style, and all the better for it.

Unclear, deep golden colored, medium soapy not that lasting white head. Aroma is of some malt, mostly citrusy and grassy, some diacetyl, and light caramel. Taste is medium sweet pale malt, some caramel and bit orange hard candy, medium- citrusy hops, bit grassy, medium bitterness, dry finish, bit biscuit and again bit diacetyl. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Decent but nothing to brag about. (bottle)

On tap at Punkraft, pours a hazy copper golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out light dank, piney hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is very punchy, with crisp crackery malt and punchy piney hops. Creamy palate, with an ideal balance. Very good.
