boxed 75cl bottle, super nice presentation. hazy to unclear orange, small orange head. foamed over when opened, however, cork did not come out by itself. Still, sink opening is recommended, it will foam over down the sides of the bottle. sweet malty aroma, faint smoke, rye, flowery honey like aroma. flavor is sweet, honey, bitter honey, nutty bitterness, sweet herbs, vanilla. quite sweet barley wine, sweetness mighe be from honey, tastes a bit like a honey-beer, also more bitter than your usual barley wine (bitter from other sources than hops). perhaps it might remind me a bit about english style barley wine, but those are not this sweet. Not really woth the high cost, but at least it is interseting and a bit special so you get some adventure for the many euros you'll spend on this one.

18.11.2017, 0,75l bottle (2015 vintage #3866/12197) @ home:
Soft gusher. Big fizzy longlasting head, slightly hazy dark golden color. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, dried fruits, grapes, hay, caramel malts, grass, alcohol, fruit stones, raisins, orange, minerals, bark, honey, apricot. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish fruity, grapes, dried fruits, fruit stones, alcohol, grass, citrus, raisins, minerals, berry skin, apricot, caramel malts, hay, bark, leafs. Medium bitterness, slightly dry boozy mouthfeel, high carbonation. Nice, kind of reminds me of a sauternes wine.
