Pivovarna Vizir in Črnomelj, Southeast Slovenia, Slovenia 🇸🇮

IPA - Imperial / Double Regular
Score

Beer with a higher alcohol level and strong taste. Only Slovenian hops are used, which gives the beer its distinctive stamp, reminiscent of classic English IPA styles. The Slovenian hops Styrian Golding originated from Great Britain. The extremely composed alcohol level does not overwhelm the beer, but merges with it into a wonderful, strong ale. Gourmet beer for demanding pleasures!

From tap at Café De Koffer, Groningen. Malty aroma with resinous hops, some grapefruit. Some floral notes. On the sweet side, medium bitter. Pretty sweet and malty, some alcohol in the finish. Medium body. Decent.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, amber colour with slightly late awakening, small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweaty, resinous, piney and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, pale and caramel malty background with hints of almond and old marzipan, some lemon, a touch of grapefruit, buttery interludes. Taste is sweet-ish, pale and caramel malty, citrusy fruity hoppy, notes of lemon, a touch of grapefruit, some almond, a dry, papery touch; lingering, bitter hoppy finish, increasing bitterness, well hidden alcohol. Creamy-oily texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, fine, soft, still efficacious carbonation. Classic West Coast style, not overly complex, not really crisp - OK and a bit underrated, ain't it?

Bottle, 330 ml, courtesy of mcberko, shared with him and Marko. Hazy dark orange, small white head. Malty, yeasty, herbal, vague fruit, Unclean, and quite a mess.

330mL bottle, courtesy of MarkoNm (thanks man!), pours a deep dark orange brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops, light caramel, and dirty yeast. Flavour is like yeast, with earth hops, light resins and murky bready malt. This is just bad - how can you sell this?

Bottle, thanks MarkoNM and mcberko! Poured a misty amber body with a white head. Malty aroma, vague fruity-herbal touch, grainy. Grainy taste, mild toothrot, mild herbal touches. Just... Vizir on a bad day.

33cl bottle. Pours slightly hazy bright amber colour with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of spruce, resins, weak bitter hops. Taste of resinous hops, spruce, mild citrusy hops, caramelish, okay but nothing special.
