With notes of coffee, cocoa nibs and a lingering hint of sweet vanilla this beer is dark, rich and indulgent. We keep ours in the fridge but take it out about an hour or so before we drink it as all that decadence needs a bit of warming up. We pour it fast into a tulip glass so the gorgeous coffee aromas can stretch their legs. If it’s early in the evening, an oyster or two sets it off nicely. If it’s later, a chocolate fondant rounds off this truly extravagant beer.

330ml bottle. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roast. Taste is chocolatey, bitter roast malts, coffee, vanilla, bit of a metallic-y finish unfortunately. Light body, soft carbonation. Not massively enjoyable, however for a non alcoholic beer it's decent.

330ml bottle. Pours black-brown in colour with a biege foam head that dissipates away and aroma of roast malt, meaty, chocolate & coffee. Taste is roasty malt, ash, powdered chocolate, vanilla, coffee and earthy bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, light bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty finish. Quite OK for the low abv

06/03/2019 @home - 33cl bottle from AH Ronse. Clear dark brown, small tanned head. Nose is roast, bit coffee, milk chocolate. Taste is thin roast, milk chocolate, wattery roasted ending. Not worse than a lot of 5% ABV stouts so not bad at all in that way.

Dark brown colour, beige creamy foam. Nose of cocoa, coffee, roasted malts. Taste is roasty, coffee, rather thin and watery but a nice experiment.

Nose is ash malty cigarette. Taste is water, cigarette, ash. Body is very thin. Just tastes of cigarettes to me. I'd choose a soft drink over it.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a small, beige head. Nose is earthy, ashy - like week old cigarette butts left in the wet gutter. Thin body as expected, and then again these horrible ashtray notes. Totally undrinkable. 090119

Bottle from Tesco. Near black in colour, with a frothy, beige, head. A touch of caramel and milk chocolate sweetness, with some toasty yet thin malts and gentle finish. A good low ABV beer.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Albert Heijn, Zaltbommel. Pitch black with a small beige head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee at first. Taste is quit sweet and the finish is also sweet and very short. Thin body and quite flat but otherwise a good shot at a low alcohol stout.
