With notes of coffee, cocoa nibs and a lingering hint of sweet vanilla this beer is dark, rich and indulgent. We keep ours in the fridge but take it out about an hour or so before we drink it as all that decadence needs a bit of warming up. We pour it fast into a tulip glass so the gorgeous coffee aromas can stretch their legs. If it’s early in the evening, an oyster or two sets it off nicely. If it’s later, a chocolate fondant rounds off this truly extravagant beer.

Bottled 330ml (Prisma)
Opaque colour, tiny beige head. Milky, burned toasted malty, ashy aroma. Medium-bodied. Toastyness, lactose, ash, tobacco in the flavour. Of course especially finish is very watery leaving ash tray to your mouth. Not totally hopeless for being NA but nothing to had another time.

330 ml. bottle. Black to dark brown, tanned head. Taste is this heavy bitter chicory, roots, bark, herbal, all this unpleasant vegetable roots bitterness, just not very tasty, turns out it has lactose in it but not even that can give it sweetness, just not my taste. Body is grainy & impressively thick.

0.33 l bottle from 'AH XL' (Nijmegen), best before July 2019. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, nuts and coffee. Quite sweet, malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, licorice, hazelnut and coffee, followed by a short, slightly bitter, gently roasty and just a little worty finish. Medium to full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really nice NA beer, one of the best I've ever had!

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 13.04.2019 Aroma has pot coffee, sweet corn, malt and hints of butter. Flavour has odd tobacco notes, sweet corn, butter and some pot coffee. Rather weird, like the sweet malt typical to alcoholfree beers tried to push trough but got stopped by the ashy tobacco tones. Still one of the best alcoholfree beers I’ve had. Kind of sad, that is.

33 cl bottle from Appie @ home. Black color. Small beige head with no retention. Aroma's: hard roasted malts, umami (at first), ground coffee, red fruit, roasted grain. Retronasal: sweetish, roasted, coffee, fruity. Flavor of sweetish roasted grain, some chocolate and coffee. Light bodied, somewhat thin. A bit roasty bitter finish. Surprisingly good.
