With notes of coffee, cocoa nibs and a lingering hint of sweet vanilla this beer is dark, rich and indulgent. We keep ours in the fridge but take it out about an hour or so before we drink it as all that decadence needs a bit of warming up. We pour it fast into a tulip glass so the gorgeous coffee aromas can stretch their legs. If it’s early in the evening, an oyster or two sets it off nicely. If it’s later, a chocolate fondant rounds off this truly extravagant beer.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, licorice and caramel. Smells just like a normal stout. Taste has caramelised malt with some roast, chocolate, licorice, sweet coffee and mocha. Body is a bit thin, but otherwise this passes as a 4 or 5% stout, impressive.

27/7/2018. Bottle shared at John's. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, toffee and coffee. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Light body, slight oily and watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Decent for its low abv with good aroma though lacks body of a typical abv stout, and much too fizzy.

Nearly black airy beige head. Roasted malt, chocolate and coffee aroma. Roasted malt and coffee flavour. Light of course, but pretty flavourful for the ABV. Fluffy carb, nicely drinkable.

Bottle from AlesByMail. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel, coffee and hops. Above average carbonation. Impressive for a low alcohol.

Bottle in Old Meldrum. It pours jet black with a thick, rugged tan head. The aroma is hard roasted malt, filter coffee, coffee cake, charred wood, ashtray, tobacco, umami, liquorice and cacao. The taste is dry, bitter, hard roasted malt, quite savoury, cacao, umami, filter coffee, touch of peppery spice with a firmly dry finish. Light body and high, foamy carbonation. Punches above its weight for sure. Not bad at all.

Bottle from a local garden centre. Quite a rich cococalte and black coffee aroma. Dark cola brown. Creamy and bubbly beige head lacks consistency. Some initial creamy coffee which is somewhat low key, before a bitter camp coffee kick to the finish. It's the latter which really stands out. As I drink more a boiled veg element makes an appearance. Light bodied. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Rather dry finish. Makes a decent enough impression for a low alcohol beer but not great as far as milk stouts go.

Deep dark brown colour with a ruby hue, tall soapy tan head, collapsing slowly, patchy lacing. Aroma roasted malts, chocolate, cola, licorice. Taste medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, milk chocolate, candy sugar; sweetbitter aftertaste, light chocolate, papery. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, mwoa.

33cl bottle. Poured near black with almost no head. Roasty nose, some coffee. Milky coffee flavors, roastedness. Low carbonation. Ok low alc. Quite flavorful.
