With notes of coffee, cocoa nibs and a lingering hint of sweet vanilla this beer is dark, rich and indulgent. We keep ours in the fridge but take it out about an hour or so before we drink it as all that decadence needs a bit of warming up. We pour it fast into a tulip glass so the gorgeous coffee aromas can stretch their legs. If it’s early in the evening, an oyster or two sets it off nicely. If it’s later, a chocolate fondant rounds off this truly extravagant beer.

Bottle, 0.5%. Roasted aroma, hint of salt liquorice. Almost black colour. Small off-white head. The flavour is roasted and watery. Watery, bready, and roasted finish. Tastes all right, but is clearly low alcohol.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small light tan head. Clear aroma of coffee, with roasty and estery notes. Roasty and acidic flavour with notes of yeast and malt. Roasty aftertaste. Watery but not entirely disappointing for the style.

33cl bottle from Longacres Garden Centre, Windlesham, named as Milk Stout only.. A cherry colar looking pour with a ring of beige head; aroma of rich chocolate with a hint of vanilla; dry in the mouth with toasted grains and then sweet chocolate; leading to a bitter, burnt toast finish with lingering vanilla. Rather good - one of the best LA beers I've come across.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is roasted, earthy, coffee, taste is roasted, huge coffee, creamy, dry. Little too much coffee for me.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget, Avenyn store. Only called "Stout" but part of label read "Milk Stout", no mention of chocolate. On December 5, 2017. BB 13 Sep 2018.Clear dark brownish read to black color, builds up a decent light brown head that settles fast but still stays around. Roasted, ash, slight acidic scent. Roasted, charred, some coffee taste. Charred, dry aftertaste. Medium light, also fizzy, mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. Not brilliant, but as a very low alcohol beer feels great I can actually get something black and roasted.6/4/6/2/11=2.9

Bottle shared (free sample, thanks!) at Cotteridge Wines. Black with a ring beige head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, light coffee, cocoa and light lactose. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light and watery in the body as you would expect with soft carbonation. Overall an amazing low alcohol beer, best of the style I’ve had.
