This style has been recently resurrected in recent times and provides the perfect base to this weird and wonderful beer.
Tom Yum Gose brings together the fresh aromatic spices of Laos and Thailand, the natural wild yeasts of Somerset and carefully sourced salt to make a truly remarkable and refreshing beer.
Featuring: Red chillies, Galangal, Salt, Kaffir lime, Sea salt, Szechuan peppercorns, coriander seed, lime juice & lemon-grass this hopless beer lets the ingredients do all of the talking

Bottle from crafty bottle Lincoln. Deep chestnut brown colour with a thin head. Aroma light spicy and floral citrus. Taste salty and tart with a warming finish. Crisp fresh body.

Tap at Unorthodox Bar. Galangal is probably the strongest characteristic here. Overal really spicy, fresh feeling, almost medicinal quality (but medicine in a good way, not the off-flavour). Light gose-ish salty sourness present. Thin bodied, otherwise no prominent beerish character. I would call it rather interesting than particularly good. Tasty though.

Bottle. Cloudy brownish-orange, weak foam. Specific aroma: spicy, lime, coriander, pepper, sour, exotic. Taste: sour, spicy, lime and lemongrass, pepper and coriander, spicy, interesting.

From backlog. 330ml bottle. Spicy, tartish and heavy with coriander notes. A bit strange, but somehow this is still kinda good and refreshing. Interesting.

On tap at BrewDog Soho with Harry. Dirty red brown colour. No head. Fruity aroma. Light salt. Strawberry raspberry flavour . Reminds me of something sweet from childhood. Sherbet. Like some kind of sherbet sweet I had as a kid. A fruit chew bar with sparkles inside. OK.

Thin beige head immediately disappeared leaving a reddish brown, finely carbonating body. Cardamom, spices, spiced fruit & yeast aroma. Medium to thin bodied, slightly effervescent, crisp, clean & dry on the back. Spicy to the fore with cardamom, berry & grape followed by a fruity back & a spicy hot & salty aft.

Aroma of spices, coriander, getting a bit of heat, quite complex nose, difficult to describe, strange
Taste of soft fruits, soft spicy pepper, dab of coriander, bit vegetal, complex spices, lemongrass, soft sour, obviously unusual
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, lemony sour, smooth, slight salt, light spicy heat, more heat with the drinking. Finish of soft fruits, quite sour, spicy, very slight saltiness
Overall - Thought this would be undrinkable, but this crazy beer is actually quite pleasant, but too odd for more than 1 bottle

At a tasting, small bubbly head, earthy orange color, aroma of shrubs, star anise and lots of umami, with a hint of lemon grass, flavor of apple and spice with umami enveloping, a touch piercing sourness. Nice and original.
