Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Café, Halifax. Glowing pale golden ale with a thin head. Crisp, with an ale texture, but more steady lager malt taste. Fruity in its nose.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop London and drunk at home. Hazy gold orange colour with a lasting cream coloured head. Hoppy aroma, some white pepper. Quite fruity in the mouth, some tangerine and lemon. It’s a little less than clean. Bit earthy. Some bitterness. OK, but not the best lager in the UK. Crisp hoppy finish though.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Hazy golden body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of green vegetables, grass and Rich Tea biscuits. Crisp, refreshing flavour of lemony hops, earth and herbs. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Very clean and authentic.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - green beans, green herbs and a metallic note. Light Saaz spice. Taste - more spice and green notes, fennel maybe. Palate - light bodied with a lean and very tight texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a really dry herbische pils like Jever.

Bottle. Bier Huis, Ossett. Pale orange. Thin, tight, white head. Spicy hop. Bready malt. Hint of flora. Hint of citrus. Taste is spicy bitter. Some bready sweetness. Palate is clean, and ever so slightly tart. Finishes light, grassy bitter. Very drinkable.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth with mild fine carbonation. Smooth bready pale malts with mild thin cream. Hops are mildly citric with a touch of spice and a little floralness. Light semi dry finish. Clean and drinkable but could be a bit crisper.

Keg at BD Sheps Bush. It pours clear golden with minimal head. The nose is toasty, grainy, wheetabix, light pine and grass. The taste is crisp, bitter, toasted grain, grass, straw, light pepper and cereal with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp and very drinkable. Good for the style.
