Bottle at the Cotteridge Convention 2015 thanks to the Wingman. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, creamy, sweet dark fruits and liquorice. The taste is bitter-sweet, juicy fruits, earth, liquorice, toast, creamy aspect and a touch of coffee with a dry finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Pretty easy drinking for the abv. Not bad at all.

Cask at the Merchants Inn, Rugby, 24/07/13. Badged as ’Victory - Thick As Thieves’. Pitch black with a decent sized tan head. Nose carries a good roast malt blast, chocolate, dark toffee. Taste comprises cocoa, roast malt, mineral bite, light booze. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Pretty decent cask stout all told - looks the part has some bollocks and some flavour - what more do you want?
