This ruby-red beer has been brewed only once before and is brought back again especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. The enticing
aromas of tangerine and grapefruit lead to blackberry and treacle-toffee flavours, balanced by a crisp, bitter finish.

Hops: Pacific Gem, Summit
Style: best bitter

Handpull cask at the Marquis Wellington under the 'retro' label. Ruby red brown and clear with a small even beige head and lots of lacing. Metal, fruit punch, vinegar in the aroma. More of the same unholy combination in the taste. Acrid finish. Yuckima.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2016. Copper in colour, with a slight, white, head. Aroma of sweetish, redcurrant fruit, with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour had sweet, slightly earthy, malts, more fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask handpull at Westgate Canterbury jdw. Clear dark red beer disappearing beige head. Not much condition. Flavour is ok though. Some red fruit some sweetness. Lots of red ales this festival which I quite like. Some hop on the finish. Yes decent enough beer. OK temp. Some red malty fruit some hop sting on the finish. A little earthy.
