440ml can. Almost black pour with a big beige head. Aroma of pine, orange peel, roast malts and chocolate. Taste is very hoppy, lots of pine, citrus, orange and grapefruit peel, roast malts and chocolate, coffee and strong hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Good BIPA, surprised by some mediocre ratings, I wonder if this has changed a fair bit over the years. Probably in need of some more malt character for balance though.

440ml can. Poured a murky dark brown colour with a massive fizzy, bubbly, off white head. The aroma is grassy, piney hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a crisp, mineral, light dry ashtray, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with very lively carbonation. It took about 30 minutes to pour this beer.

440ml can as part of a delivery from the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown, somewhat translucent with a thin layer of beige head. Musty pine, hazelnut and light citrus, some earthy notes in the aroma. Decent if muted and a bit confused. Sweet taste, more piney notes with some caramel, ending with some chalky bitterness in the back of the tongue. Long bitter finish. It's pretty good but I'm a bit picky with my BIPAs.

Can from Lidl. Dark brown in colour, with a thin, white, head. Citrus fruit character, jammy sweetness, a whiff of pine, bready malts, some leafy hops, chocolate and a lightly dry finish. Enjoyable.

440ml can: BB 8th Oct 2021. Drank at home on 3rd Nov 2020. Very dark brown body, beige topping. Spiced aroma and taste, dark fruits and malts battle in the flavour stakes, finishes with a light bitter feel.

Bottle and can. Black body with ruby highlights and a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of marmalade, blueberry and liquorice. Flavour of liquorice root, blackcurrant and a tangy finish. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. It’s nice to see a new Black IPA, it’s a style I like. This is a decent one, at a good price too.
