0.25 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Probably head it years ago but didn’t rate. Shared with Snake Freak. Hazy dark golden, tiny off-white head. Overripe fruits, yeast, dry fruit. Wood, malts. Sour, dry, malty. Medium body, medium carbonation, rather light finish. Some balance, some compromise.

Clear golden appearance with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some initial tartness, cork and dryness. Strangely sweet end with some fructose.

Bottle. Nose is farmyard, hint of leather, touch of lemon, dusty cupboard, very sweet candy sugar edge. Taste massive candy sugar, leading to a little lemon, apples, more candy sugar, hint of funk, pear drops, faintest touch of leather, rhubarb and custard sweets, a. Mouthfeel is slick, and slightly cloying (I assume because it’s basically sugar syrup). The nose is not bad, but the beer itself is awful. This is a faro not a geuze, and it’s so sweet as to be undrinkable. A gueuze for alcopop drinkers seems a paradox, so I assume it is a gueuze for those without palates?

Bottle at home. Two year old. The colour is clear dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of apricots, vinegar, apples, citric acid and barn yard. The flavour is surprisingly sweet with lots of apricots and fudge but still some sour citric undertones. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A rather sweet take on a gueuze but easy-drinking and balanced.

On tap @Buskers Pub (Rome). Pours clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma of barnyard, honey, balsamic notes, sugary. Flavour is medium to high sweet, light sour, sugary in the end. Medium body, light carbonation. More similar to a Faro, but ok.

Vaaleahkon ruskean, ehkä hieman kuparin värinen olut hyvin niukalla valkoisella vaahdolla. Tuoksussa esiin nousee ennen kaikkea vahva hedelmäisyys, varsinkin omena. Myös maku hedelmäinen/omenainen kivalla puraisulla. Makeuttakin on, mutta ei liikaa. Marjainen jälkimaku toimii. Kyllä tämä omaan makuuni sopii voittaa kirsikkaversiot varsin komeasti, mutta 25cl pullo on ihan riittävä tällaista tavaraa.

A nice sipping sour, with more of a full body than most. Also quit a bit sweeter than most. The sourness isn't harsh or too tart, but more mild. Bottle in Brussels. and Bottle again online belgian beer shop
