One of our most aggressive and sought-after offerings. Bold bourbon, tobacco and espresso aromas and a hint of American oak greet the nose. Rich, chewy roasted malts, charred oak and bourbon-like vanilla fill the palate and create a seamless finish. A remarkably complex brew that offers a transcendental drinking experience – enjoy with good company.

2017 vintage. Don’t even know anymore where I picked this up, it’s been in the cellar for years, but possibly from wombat23. Virtually black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of fudge, oak, cherries and lots of bourbon. Taste is moderate sweet with an intense, boozy finish, and lingering vanilla. Full bodied, chewy, moderate to mild carbonation. Definitely a slow sipper. Good, but too heavy on the barrel.

This remains such an amazing beer, which indeed never fails to impress. Rich, smooth, warmingly boozy with a nice amount of bourbon. Always a pleasure to drink, and will hold up amongst whales.

Medium body, oily, sweet, a bit boozy. Roasty coffee, dark chocolate, some vanilla and licorice in the backend. An excellent ris.

Bottle. A- Mild licorice, cocoa, char. A- Black color, black liquid, beige head. T- Anise, char, cocoa, slightly bitter. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- Even at almost 4 years old this had a bit of bitterness with it. I imagine it's pretty aggressive fresh. This was solid but I think at this point it's just another quality stout, would like to try more of the variants though.

From a 355ml bottle on 31/12/2020 (shared with Butz, 2018 vintage, ABV listed as 12.7%, No 009). Pours a deep brown with a small head. Has a big and impressive chocolate and oak/barrel. Very smooth on the sip, it's intense but surprisingly easy drinking, with lots of milk chocolate, a good dash of dark fruit, with mildly boozy bourbon. Really intense, well balanced and enjoyable. Excellent.
