Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Straining for a vague chocolate aroma. Very dark cola. Thin bubbly beige head. Sweet and sour dark chocolate. Liquorice. Dark berries. Hmmmm... a tad odd. Medium bodied. Very slickly. Flat carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Cough medicine.

Cask at Golden Lion, JDW, Rochester. Very dark brown, lasting creamy head. Traditionally this was made with honey. there may be some sweetness here from honey but just as easy it could come from the alcohol. Certainly a warm heat here. This is ok. solid winter warmer. Alcohol is a little raw on finish. It’s a decent strong ale, not huge hops anywhere. Just a little sweet maybe.
