Pours mahogany tinged black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Dark chocolate and chili aromas. Full with dark chocolate, toasted nuts and mocha upfront turning to warming serrano before the lasting chocolate covered espresso finish.

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014 - Session 2. Pours deep brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds dark chocolate, green pepper and coffee. Medium sweet flavour with present but not oppressive chili heat, sweet dark chocolate, moderate roasted malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Light chili heat on the finish, with rich chocolate, more roast, dark bread. Really good chili integration into this stout. Solid.

Bottle/Fest. A- Chilies. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Chilies, cocoa, spicy. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spicy finish. O- A nice stout but a little overboard on the peppers. The heat seemed to overtake almost everything else. In small amounts it’s good but very much and I imagine this beer would get overbearing.

Huge pepper aroma going on here. Finishes super spicy with some bitterness. Spice overtakes some of more subtle elements of stout, but this makes for a well done spicy stout if that’s your thing. Tap at Snallygaster.

Coffee, and charred oak nose, moderate strength. Black, thick beige head, good lacing. Rich dark chocolate and espresso, not overly sweet. Full body, creamy, soft carbonation, a touch of prickly heat. Chilie is present, but only the heat not the flavor. If you like mocha, you’ll love this. Great intensity and balance.
