Level 42 bottleshare. Thanks to Scopey. Opaque dark brown beer, good 10 head. Light palate with modest carbonation. Mellow but fairly tangy dark malts. Modest dark chocolate. Light semi dry finish. Fine but just another porter.

Bottle shared in CW. Cheers! Pours clear brown with a small, creamy tan head. The aroma holds tangy dark fruits, burnt brown bread. Light sweet flavour, fairly tangy, with some leathery berries, earthy bitterness. Light bodied with tingly carbonation. A little oily on the finish, with more tangy old berries. So so.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to , 26/09/17. Black with a decent tan head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is light roast, spice, cocoa hint, toffee. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, spice, light roast, faint coffee, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lactic nip. Ok porter ... bit on the tangy side.

Bottle at L42. It pours black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, decent dark coffee, bitter - sweet, dark chocolate and oily action. The taste is dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, treacle, tangy dark fruits, bit of jam and earth with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice porter, but there is a hint of tang kicking around... not bad, but probably a touch infected.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - properly opaque black with a lovely crema head. Nose - caramel and smoke. Some dark chocolate and molasses. Taste - very dark chocolate, like 200% cocoa. Molasses and light smoke or charcoal. Palate - close to medium bodied with dry middle section that continues through the finish. Overall - this is good. Nice complex session strength stout.
