Tasting at Matt's, bottle
Cloudy dark rust colour. Aroma of caramelized berries and strawberry jam. Relatively strong acidity, strong fruit.
Not very refined, but bold for sure.

375mL bottle, pours a murky deep dark reddish pink with a beige head. Aroma brings out lots of barnyard funk, with heaps of raspberries, a hint of acidity, and oak. Flavour is quite acidic, with lots of well-aged cherries, moderate funk, a little leather, and heaps of acidity. Bordering on stomach-churningly acidic, with lots of tart fruits. Not sure how this compares to fresh, but at this age (10+ years), it's still very impressive. Good fruit lambic.

375ml bottle at Matt's. NO LABEL. BLIND TASTING. Appearance: hazy golden with a weak head. Aroma: mix of very old cherries and raspberries, some funk, wood, and maybe a bit of vinegar. Taste: along the same lines, but it's definitely on the vinegary side. Overall: too old, smells a bit better than it tastes.

Cask @ EBF 2008. Pink and cloudy. Raspberry vinegar in the aroma. Sour vinnegary flavor. The raspberry is restricted to the background. Cannot be compared to the great Belgian raspberry lambics, because of the overwhelming vinegar notes.

No head, nice red raspberry juicy color. Aroma is slightly dry concentrated fruity, raspberry juice, grass, berry skin, mild vinegar, hints of paint. Taste is sour-ish grainy, dry sour raspberries, grain, grass, berry skin, lemon, mild vinegar, hints of paint. Medium bitterness, dry acidic mouthfeel. Very nice.
