Brewed by Rob Orton, Autumn Indie has the hallmark of a big, punchy IPA but with a lower ABV, which is balanced by the addition of Munich, Crystal, Dark Crystal and Oat malts. This gives the beer a deep red colour as well as a depth of flavour and a structure to hold the powerful hops in place. Slovenian Aurora lays the foundations for a firm balanced bitterness, then American Chinook was added to give a delightful citrus, resin and pineapple flavour and Slovenian Wolf, aided by Slovenia’s richer climate, provides mango, passionfruit and red berry notes. The beer is then dry-hopped after fermentation to provide extra bitterness and aroma, a requisite of any wannabe IPA.
