The base of L’enfant Terrible is Bravoure. This beer is transferred to used wine barrels at the end of the fermentation. In the course of one and a half years this beer is undergoing a major transformation. Wild yeasts and bacteria out of the woods convert complex sugars into acids. Smokiness is transformed into fruity esters. Sometimes creating beer is still magic. In 2011, L’enfant Terrible won a silver medal in the category Belgian Styled Geuze! A surprising fact…

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Ambrata carica, schiuma bianco-sporco media. Al naso note affumicate e vinose, di frutta rossa. In bocca è acida moderata, non molto lunga e persistente, caotica, slegata. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Molto spigolosa.

Draught @ Stadin Panimobaari, Helsinki. Pours orange with a smooth head. Aroma of bretta, smoky leather, wood, malts, caramel, ripe fruits, funky yeast and farmyard. Taste is funky, slightly tart and earthy with some sourness, bretta, wood, oak, hints of smoke, leather and ripe fruits. Finish is ripe fruity, slightly sourish and tart with some smokiness, leather, wood, bretta, oak and toffee. Quite tasty and complex, not your typical sour ale.

Draught @ Stadin panimobaari. Poured deep golden color with a thick white head, lasting. Awesome aroma, barnyard notes, smoke, malt, grapes. Flavor has funkyness, mild smoky notes, sweet fruits, some tartness in the finish. Amazing brew. Wow.

Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were wood, vineousness, sourness, yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste was dry, sour and bitter. A very dry sour brew.

Oranje kleurig bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is friszuur met iets van noot en hout. Ben helaas niet erg gecharmeerd van dit bier.
