[English]: Skands Porter is dark and strong with a pleasant aroma of malts and caramel. Subtle sweetness and bitterness dominates this beer. The ingredients are pilsner, caramel and colour malts and the nice Muscovado sugar gives the beer aroma and flavours of liquorice and dried fruits.

Bottle, at Ølfestival 2011. It pours a dark brown body, clear, and with a small, dense, beige head. Coffee-roasted aroma with caramel. The flavor has roasted malts and coffee, some chocolate notes too. Medium to full body, maybe a bit heavily carbonated. Dry, roasted finish. One dimensional but decent. Rating: 6-4-6-3-13-3.0. 110528
Bottle. A clear-looking dark brown beer with a two-finger quite coarse light beige head. The aroma is roasted and chocolatey with a slightly unpleasant vegetal hint. Roasted, chocolatey flavor too, sort of one dimensional. Medium body, dry on the palate. Roasted finish with caramel, chocolate, some dried coconut and a pleasant bitterness. Roasted bitterness too. A decent one, nothing impressive. 110612

70cl bottle at home. pours dark clear brown, thick yellowbron head. flavor is roasted grains, brown sugar, roaste toffee, chocolate, roasted malts, mild raisins. rather tasty actually, esp. if you like raisins and toffee. ( i don’t). also reminds me slightly of a barley wine. aroma is quite faint, barley iwineyish porter like. caramel, toffee. overall a rather harmless porter that tastes fine-fine, but does not stand out. this bottle 2 months from best before date, that might explain the raisins and the well roundedness (which is fine.). 2008 rating 4,3,7,3,15 re-rate 2020-10-30 25cl btl. from tasting box dark brown with a brown head. nutty aroma, chocolate powder, toasted bread, super faint note of licorice, a mild buttery malty thing, reminds me of czheck dark beer. 6 flavor is pretty weird, sort of burnt caramel, malt candy, dark bitter toffee, like if somebody had put into a blender : water, vodka, box of assorted mostly dark dessert chocolates and pressed blend!. then somehow used a sieve to get rid of all the sticky stuff, leaving a diluted vodka/chocolate juice behind. i'm not super impressed, burnt caramel on toasted bread with a bit of nutella and vodka is not really my thing. That being said, the flavor is sort of interesting, and not entirely revolting. 6 overall a pretty bad tasting beer, esp. if you had set your sights up for a porter. overall 9 so 2020 rating is 6,3,6,3,9 i am updating my rating to the 2020 numbers i guess people would be less confused if they called it something else than porter.

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours black with a minimal reddish hue and a dense tan head. Roasted and breadish malt aroma. Sweet malt flavour, not as roasted in the flavour as in the aroma. Ends with a mild liqourice/roasted note and rather sweet. Too sweet and strange breadish for my liking
