A dense, frothy dark tan head on a near black body. Lacing holds to the top of the glass. Nose is fresh ground coffee, cocoa and a touch of booze. Lots of tastes going on here. Fresh ground coffee, cocoa, oak, dark berries, whiskey, ash and a bitter finish. Very dry and dense. The bitterness, oak and ash make this a more challenging taste profile than many ISs.

From tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2018. Sweet with an aroma of coffee, molasses, syrup, soy sauce, roasted malt, laurel, fruit cake, and salty liquorice. Flavour is quite sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is full, bit sticky in the mouth. Not my favourite Imperial Stout aroma with the salty liquorice and syrupy molasses, but the coffee adds the balance that makes it work for me.

BBE Sept 2025. A black beer, a head is medium and brown. Aroma has liquorice, light and fresh dried fruitnes. Taste has smoothness of maltyness, liquorice, some coffee, roastiness and caramel. Full dodied, not stickyness. Nothing special, but the balance is great. I really like this beer.

Waxed bottle. Vintage 2014 (december). My version was 9,5% ABV. doskonale sie zestarzalo, czuc tu fajnie wszystkim co w imperialnym stoucie czuc sie powinno, palonosc, spora, kawy tez bez liku, nieco gozkiej czekolady, jakies przyprawy nieco dymne, o posmaku goryczkowo-palonym wyraznie sie to utrzymuje po przelknieciu, piana brazowawa nie za wielka srednio trwala, geste i oleiste, nie przejrzyste. dobrej klasy imperialny stout

Bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde. Cloudy black, thin, beige head. Aroma of brownie dough, mocha biscuit, prune, fig, chocolate chips, cinnamon, molasses, syrup, coffee liqueur. Taste has sweet date, prune & chocolate in a thick brownie malty body, molasses accent & spicy cookie. Toasty, earthy umami edge. Earthy hoppy finish with coffee roast, syrup & warming coffee liqueur alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Agreeable, subtle Pastry.

On tap at Haandgemeng. It pours a more or less black body, at least it's not see-through. A small dark beige head sits on top. Some lacing. The aroma has coffee, dark sugar, dark dried fruits, a burnt touch and some licorice. It's full-bodied, sweet and smooth on the palate, with roasted malts, coffee, brown sugar, prunes and dried figs, some burnt malts and licorice flavors. Lasting malty finish. Sure, it's sweet, yet perhaps a bit on the dry side. Nice anyway. 171027

Pitch black beer, thick beige collar. Smell is malt, chocolate and caramel with a little something tangy and sweet that I can't quite place. Taste has dark chocolate, rich coffee, earthy malt, honey with a little boozy warmth in there too. Really smooth, probably thanks to the oats, and the warmth lingers. Lovely stuff.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, very small, creamy tan head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of molasses, dark chocolate, some honey, yeasty marmite overtones. Taste is roasty dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, a touch of molasses, marmite, a minimally ashy touch as well.
