Bottle at BD Castlegate share. It pours dark red brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweeet. Sticky, bubblegum, plastic, vanilla, candy, sugary, Welch's grape juice, rocky road, caramel, toffee and roasted malt. The taste is sweet, tangy, oily, sugary, dark fruits, date, prune, bubblegum, boozy warmth, figgy pudding, plum, prune, grape and candy with a tangy finish medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad, a bit sweet.

Spotty off white head with a good collar. Minimal aroma of dark spirits, demerara & malt. Medium bodied, soft on the palate. Demarara, dark berry, whisky, sweet & malt tastes

Batch #001, Cask B-6-13, B-6-14, B-6-15, Released autumn 2015. Limited edition 2015. Aroma has sweet toffee candy all the way. Flavour has sweet toffee candy, some toasted sugar and Belgian yeast. Could not locate the whisky here. In fact, if I would be tasting this blindly and being told this was a basic Keizer Blauw – I’d buy it.

Obtained this 33 cl bottle from a mail order outfit out of Belgium, thanks. Gouden Carolus is a personal pleasure, let me see what whisky (not whiskey) infusion does for it. I pour into my Chimay glass to see a darkish brown body finished by an off-white, persistent top. The scent is alluring, dark fruit, banana, dough and alcohol. The taste, even better, figs, dates, brown sugar, booze, malt, very aware, strong presence. I will revel in this for awhile.

Refrigerated 75 cL brown bottle corked and capped. Clear dark brown with small off-white head. Aroma is dark candy sugar, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dark fruit and some dark candy sugar.

Draught @ Fairbar. Pours clear dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, bread, candy sugar, dried fruit, dates, little sweet whisky. Flavor is sweet, malty, yeast, caramel, brown sugar, little dried fruit, whisky, alcohol. Medium to full body, average carbonation, sweet finish with some warming alcohol. 090319
