Charles Quint Ambrée 8.5% 600 yen from the Belgian Beer Weekend. It pours a lovely amber with a thick head. A nice bready malty sweet aroma. The flavor is boozy, fruity then malt & caramel followed by a crisp mildly bitter finish. Bice thick bready body. Some slight warming too. Maybe good for a cold winter night but it doesn’t match a hot summer night. Decent.

Clear ruby colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, red fruits and honey. Malty flavour, light sweet, light bitter roasted malts, bit metallic. Quite full body. Finish caramel and iron.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Mitra.nl. Pours copper red with an off-white head. Fruity caramel aroma with some orange. Medium bitterness with some nicely concealed alcohol. Good Belgian beer.

Bottle. Pours clear dark reddish brown with frothy white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, coffee, nuts, flowers, dough and hints of cloves, plum, prunes, cinnamon and wine. Taste is medium sweet, light sour and light bitter. Body is oily with good carbonation. Finish is light metallic and follows the nose.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons. Calais 75cl drunk with a thai red curry. deep red colour thin beige head. its a strangely muted beer with some red fruits and some belgian yeast ester character. its tasty enough to combat the chilli. its strong enough to get me drunk. the food however is blinding so the beer suffers in comparison. Fine though

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Some nice yeasty notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Some fruity esters. MOderate bitter finish. Oily palate.
