French for "Two Friends," Deux Amis brings together two esteemed brewers who have long admired each other's work—Olivier Dedeycker, fourth generation Master Brewer at Brasserie Dupont and Tomme Arthur, acclaimed Brew Master of Lost Abbey. Brewed in Belgium using Dupont's 172-year-old brewing equipment, techniques, and its revered yeast strain, this collaboration marries the two brewer's Saison styles and adds American Amarillo and Simcoe hops. The result of this kinship is a dry, refreshing Old World Saison full of peppery spice that finishes with New World flavors of floral orange and earthy pine.

Tap at Brewdog Helsinki. Colour is slightly cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, tropical fruits, some harshness, spices, hops, some pepper, Belgian yeast and malts. Quite hoppy and harsh Saison. Lots of flavors but not very fresh but still overall pretty good. Lingering.

Keg @ Stadin Panimobaari. Poured golden color with a thick white head. Spicy, wheaty, some banana in aroma, coriander notes. Flavor has ripe banana, wheat, spices, hops, floral notes. Lingering long finish with hops and ripe banana. Exquisite.

Bottle @ Hj Hansen, Odense. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Dupont yeast, cement, vague esters - some bubblegum and fruit. Straw and herbal hoppy peppery spicy bitter finish. Quenching, balanced and delicate.

Bottle @ ZZT 2016-1, small sample. Thanks all for sharing! Slight hazy golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma is peppery, grapefruit, pine, garlic, onion. Feels like a Dupont with US hops and to be honest, I prefer the regular Saaz and Styrian Golding like hops. They fit these beers much better. Decent stuff, but not the best combination ever.

Towering dense white head over finely, well-carbonated golden-yellow beer. Beautiful noble hops, that strangely appear European, rather than New World, with spicy yeast, fines herbes. Spicy flavour, grains, herbs, delicate flavourcomponents. Light body, slightly lipsmacking acidity, quite slick, good carbonation. Excellent! Nuff said - what did you expect from these twio? Txs to Louis!

750 ml. bottle sampled @ ZZT 2016-1. Excited about this one. Hazy orange, small white head, massive when initially poured but its quickly gone. Clearly lively. Nose is Dupont yeast, banana, green banana, hop is plastic, green grass, floral, green plats,… Zero of what you would usually expect from the USA hops they used. Lively body, fizzy, light plastic in the body. Taste is big on lovely Dupont yeast, banana, sugar, white pepper, green plants & plastic bitter, floral,…. Actually rather similar to the” Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping 2016” which I recently had & which had Brewers Gold as an additional hop. I think the lesson here is that Dupont yeast eats everything, totally dominates everything,… Using USA hop in Dupont beers is pointless at least the classical ones. This is a good bottle of Dupont saison – not the best, Dupont varies a lot & I often like it more on draft. Educational beer but if you were hoping for a tropical Dupont like me, you are going to wind up a bit disappointed.

Sampled from bottle @ ZZT 2016-1. Lightly unclear golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, citrus. Tastes about the same: wheat, yeast, a slight hint of green plants, wood, orangepeel. Average to medium body and carbonation. Meh.
