French for "Two Friends," Deux Amis brings together two esteemed brewers who have long admired each other's work—Olivier Dedeycker, fourth generation Master Brewer at Brasserie Dupont and Tomme Arthur, acclaimed Brew Master of Lost Abbey. Brewed in Belgium using Dupont's 172-year-old brewing equipment, techniques, and its revered yeast strain, this collaboration marries the two brewer's Saison styles and adds American Amarillo and Simcoe hops. The result of this kinship is a dry, refreshing Old World Saison full of peppery spice that finishes with New World flavors of floral orange and earthy pine.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a cloudy golden with tons of impirities and a neat and lacing white head. Nose is both yeasty and very floral - typical Dupont aroma. Medium body, a sweet fruitiness and then a very distinct yeastiness. Sorry, but I can absolutely not detect the American aroma hops in neither arome nor flavor. Hardly any bitterness. Very classical Belgian Saison. 090916

Tap into a wineglass showing honey hues with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows sweet malts. The palate is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Lightly tart with flavors of light lemon and finishes with a moderately hoppy bitterness.

A golden beer, a head is big, dense and white. Aroma has grain, earthyness and some sourness, some fruitness and overriped apples. Taste has grain and fruitness, earthyness, some spices. Medium bodied, strong carbonation. Not a bull eye, too less of fruitness. Anyway, no problem to enjoy the big bottle.
