Tap at TCBW. Dark amber color, small off-white head. Lots of oak, whisky, toffee in the nose. Medium-bodied. Woody, oaky, malty, some sweetness. Simple whiskey brew but quite drinkable.

Sampled at ACBF 2017, Vichte. Clear burgundy pour with a thin beige head. Notes of bourbon, vanilla, light hops, bitter fruit and caramel. Very smooth, a bit boozy. --- Beer merged from original tick of Elliot Brew Reserva on 09 Mar 2017 at 17:24 - Score: 7

Sampled @ ACBF Vichte 2017. Leicht trübes rötlich oranges Bier mit einer geringen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch holzig, fruchtig hopfig, rote Früchte. Geschmack holzig fruchtig, rote Früchte, Karamell Eiche.

Trocken orangiger Begin mit süßlichen, oxidiert holzigen Noten. Muffig malzig, mild herb. Zu Geld gemachtes, im Fass vergessenes Bier... 10/5/6/5//6

From tap at Billie’s Bier Kafétaria in Antwerp. Lacing, egg-white, moussy, stable head, deep warm amberish copper colour, hazy. Absolutely delicious bouquet of madera, candied cherry, marmelade, bourbon, vanilla-like tannins, canned apricot, hazelnut oil, caramelized sugar, biscuit, port, strawberry, chestnut, honey. Quite intense but well-proportioned candied sweetness in the onset, cherry, orange and mango balanced by a deep, gentle, redcurrant-like sourishness; soft carbo, thick and smooth honeyish and caramelly malt sweetness, vinous mouthfeel, lovely oaky tannins and wet wood in the finish with an impression of old oxidized sherry, liqueurish and bourbon-like sweet warming alcohol and soft citrusy and herbal hoppiness, but nothing is left of the rich spicy aromas or deep bitterness I associate with a DIPA - this beer is much closer to an English style barley wine with certain Belgian features. Regardless of style though, this is clearly one of Struise’s great masterpieces.

Copper colored, unclear, small off white head. Aroma is strong bourbon vanilla oaky, some caramel and bit citrus hoppy. Taste is medium to strong sweet caramel malt, strong vanilla bourbon, oak, some citrus and fruity medium- hoppiness and bitterness, bittersweet finish, alcohol noticeable. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation. Unfortunately the Bourbon overpowers the hops almost completely in this one... should have tried the regular version. Keg at the Old School, Oostvleteren, 21/11/15 as Elliot Reserva BBA. Rich copper to chestnut brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is juicy hop notes, bitter citrics, bourbon strokes, light pine, tropical fruit wafting. Taste comprises grapefruit, orange pith, bourbonic cloak, caramel, candied fruit peel, light pine shavings, dusty tropicana. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a little added boost and earthy hop bitterness. Decent, well executed for a BA DIPA, still retains IPA qualities and is well balanced.

On tap at the Alvinne Craft Beer Fest in Vichte-Belgium, with markoijelana and cika Boban. Ciao Jeca. Pours practically the same as the regular one, orange cloudy with an off-white head. Nose, sweet, wood, dusty. Mouth: it is not a good taste, really weird!

Light brown. Aroma of sweet dried fruits and grass. Some sherry-like fruitiness and fruit cake flavours. Finishes quite strong and hoppy with some bitter orange peel.
