dark brown colour with ruby notes, one inch, not really dense beige-ish head, which, after collapsing, becomes a creamy, dense half cm layer; aroma of roasted coffee, burnt roasted peanut, some ash, maybe leather, too, as well as herbal and dried plum notes; taste is the same with bitter cocoa powder, soy sauce and some syrupy sweetness; good one!

Pitch black, thick off-white head. Light, malty, creamy smell. Taste is rich, earthy malt, coffee, chocolate, a dash of toffee, maybe a light hint of fruit. Rich and creamy mouthfeel, and the chocolatey coffee lingers. This is pretty bloody tasty.

#044. Dark, opaque brown color, good brownish head. Aroma is toasted malty, a bit coffeish, light sweet note. Medium-bodied. Simple coffeish roasted malty flavor. Some alcohol in the finish. Clean palate. Lingering roastyness in the aftertaste. Simple imperial stout with light coffee vibe.

Burk från SB. Coca-färgad med krämig skumpuck. Doft av rostad malt, mörkt bröd, rostade nötter och kanske aningens kaffe. Förvånansvärt lätt för stilen och inte alls vad man förväntar sig. Snarare en ganska ganska klassisk foreign stout eller strong porter med fina rostade smaker med en lätt laktossötma med lite vanilj. Trevlig.

(330ml can from Systembolaget web order) Pours black with a fine, pale beige head that lasts well with some lace. Aroma of dark malt, acidic roast, lactose milkshake, chocolate powder, light coffee, a sort of candy note, like sweet liquorice? Flavour is extremely sweet, dark sugar syrup, cola, lactose, rather light notes of coffee and chocolate, some light roast/coffee bitterness towards the back end but finishes sweet and lactose-heavy, with a banana milkshake sort of vibe. Medium full creamy mouthfeel with soft carb, rather thick and nails the latte aspect more than the flavour does. Might be the best aspect of a beer that is just too sweet and not complex on the palate.

(Can, 0.33 l, at BrewDog Helsinki, 20161013) The beer poured black. Its head wasn’t there. Aroma had coffee with milk and burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, creamy coffee, sweetness, ash and bitterness. A bit disappointing brew. Just coffee and burn malts.
