Can from Carrefour, Nice. Pale gold, no head. Hides its strength well but does taste like a bland lager. Has a mild sweetness in its nose.

Can shared by Joes @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, a grainy sweetness, slightly bitter finish. Average to medium body, medium carbonation. Drinkable, but a 50cl can is too much for me, I’m glad this was shared.

50cl Can: BBD 10/2014. 7% ABV. On the 28th Nov 13 I had a mini Lager/Pilsner session and this beer I obtained when in the South of France was my forth of the evening. Poured the usual clean golden colour you’d expect from a European supermarket Lager, the same white un-staying head was also in evidence. Almost odourless, it did however give off a slightly stale malty aroma with a metallic hint. The taste was refreshing enough and the body was fairly soft on the palate for a strong Lager. No real taste though, just a bog standard Lager/Pilsner with a mild alcoholic kick. Not my normal sort of drink, but there was so little choice down in Ste Maxime and I wanted to bring something home with me along with the wife’s wine.

Can from a Carrefour near Republic. Pours gold with a white head. Rather corny aroma. Near full bodied. Flavor is grain/corn, alcohol, but no easily detectable hop. Perhaps a slight hint of fusil oils, perhaps not. I think there’s a real malt flavor peaking in at the end.
