Bottle bred in London - many thanks to Kenny. Pours deep brown with a frothy, off-white head. The nose holds well toasted bread, a little chocolate, faint caramel, ripe berries. Light to medium sweet flavour with mild roast, more cocoa, earth, some ripe orange, toffee. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish, with more cocoa, dark chocolate, roast, ash. Nice stuff.

Bottle shared at the inaugural Matteo tasting, 31/10/2016. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. A black dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is black malts, jammy fruits, pine, woody. Flavour is composed of black roasted malts, little liquorice, hint of smoke, woody pine, dirty hop. Palate is medium sweet. Sticky, moderate carbonation, . Not bad black ipa.

Bottle shared at home. Black with light tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts, dry powdery and chalky feel, marijuana hoppy up front and yeasty around the edges, chocolate malty underneath, coffeelike aroma. Under medium sweet, light weedy bitter. Medium body, average carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Pleasant weedy chocolatey kola nut finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sooty Otter on 18 Dec 2017 at 16:49 - Score: 8. Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Almost black with big darker beige head. Toffee, almonds, lots of roasted malts, more sweet nuts and marzipan, fruity hops with pure lime juice, mango, mint, lychee. Thereβs some weird burned malts and light plastic in the finish unfortunately, but otherwise great aroma. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with nice mouth coating carbonation. Well done!

0,33l bottle at home. BB 04-2018. unfortunatly when bringing up the beer from the cellar I noticed that there was quite a lot of foam and the there was a zisch noise (meaing the cap was not totally tight). when looking at the bottle its obvios as there is light foam coming out. so lets see how this is doing. black color, small tan head. smells of licorice, spices, light caramel, earthy, light exotic fruits, some coffee. very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of pines, citric notes, exotic fruits, coffee, licorice, earthy notes. finishes lightly bitter with notes of coffee and earthy notes. very good one, i drank this way too warm (after noticing that the bottle lost carboantion) and for a warm beer it tasted phenomenal. great stuff overall.
