Reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of wood, red fruits, vanilla, bourbon, malts, dried fruits and alcohol. Malty flavour, wood, vanilla, liquorice, dried fruits, quite sweet. Full body. Finish vanilla, wood, malts, caramel and red fruits. Nice!!!

Clear purple brown beer, big creamy beige head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: lots of dried fruits, vanilla, alcohol, caramel, bourbon? MF: lots of carbon, full body. Taste: pretty sweet start, lots of dried fruits, caramel, raisins, some vanilla. Aftertaste: pretty hoppy, dried fruits, bit sweet and sugary. Lovely beer! A true masterpiece!

My first Hair of the Dog beer, shared at Kerry's mini tasting. 2009 vintage, 10% an opaque orange copper. Definite oaky, barrel aged character with vanilla & sweet fruity notes. The taste is sweet, candy, woody, cherry, honey, a bit of a flavor profile that gives a nod towards whiskey from the barrel flavors. An incredibly complex beer, the barrel notes are quite subtle which I appreciate, quite avoid beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy very burnt orange. Creamy head. Orange rind and cloves on the nose. Grape skins. Not a lot of Fred left in taste outside of the sweetness and caramel. The oakiness is insanely strong. Lots of tannic campfire notes. Almost medicinal but nothing crazy. I think an older bottle of this would be great. On tap is a bit interesting.

Bottle, 2009 vintage. Pours cloudy hazel with a small beige creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma is toffee, caramel, pine, oak, bourbon, dried fruits. Flavor is quite sweet, light oaky astringence, dried fruits, dates, a bit of cherry perhaps. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Another yummy barrel aged offering from HOTD. I just wish they were easier to come by!.

12oz bottle. Poured a cloudy orange color. Aroma was boozy notes, boozy malt, some citrus notes with a touch of wood notes. Flavor was boozy. Plenty of sweet malt character to this with toffee, caramel, vanilla and oak. Light hops. Okay.
