Bottle @ Armin’s house. Hazy, brownish orange appearance with an off white head. Very rich, fresh oaky, organic woody, grassy, dark fruity, apricot, rich, amazing aroma. Pretty strong, fairly boozy flavor but incredibly rich with a shit load of fresh oak, dark fruits, citrusy fruits, tangy, rich, fairly caramelized sweet malty flavor. This baby is a winner.

Pours clear deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits and oak. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonaiton is soft.

Bottle. An unclear one, dark golden to amber in color and with a rocky, off-white head. Quite alcoholic on the nose, with caramel, some dried fruits and a pleasant touch of hops. Caramel sweetness, alcohol, dried fruits, bitterness, and flavors of hops. Full-bodied, lightly warming and although low on carbonation, the level is pleasant. Lasting bitter and caramel tasting finish with some alcohol warmth. There’s not much impact from the oak, but it’s certainly a nice beer anyway. 120324

08/02/2012 Bir&Fud Bottega (Vintage 2008). Ambrata, viva, abbastanza limpida, schiuma biancastra, poco abbondante e poco persistente. Al naso aroma intensissimo, quasi pervade tutta la stanza. Malto, caramello, zucchero di canna, vaniglia, ma anche luppolo. In bocca è complessa, potente attacco maltato, caramellato, e gran finale con luppolo protagonista nel retrogusto con nette note legnose al palato. Corpo pieno, buona carbonazione. Nonostante i quattro anni, scalcia ancora parecchio.

Medium amber-brown. The aroma is very barrelly, with a lot of vanilla and a little bit of caramel. Rich and full of barrel and chocolate. Dessert, and with with peachy esters as well. Smooth finish, very rounded and stylish. Great beer.

12oz bottle split into Danish samples with the DC crew. Unfiltered orange-tan with a foamy off-white head. This is really quite nice, the oak barrel really balances it out and adds some depth. Some orange-liqueur tones, Pretty solid beer, expert execution.

Denmark, Aug-Sept 2009. Bottle from Beer Paradise , Holstebro. Pours dark amber with a tiny head. Sweet malt aroma with lots of aromatic flower hops, notes of oak and sherry. Rioe fruit flavours combiend with vanilla ,oak, spices, sweetness is very well balanced by the hops. Great mouthfeel. Complex, balanced and highly enjoyable. Wish I was able to try this more often.

12 oz. bottle at Hair of the Dog, split with Matts_Property, pours a beautiful cherry-like dark red with minimal tan head. Aroma of brandied fruits, candied sugar, light wood notes, tobacco and oak. Flavour brings out the tobacco and smoky wood upfront, with dry brandied / candied fruits and some sweetness. Very complex with a smoky, sweet, but dry palate. Excellent.
