Blue Dot is named after our planet: we are only a pale blue dot in this universe. Made with Organic Pilsner malt, Rye malt and a combination of intense hop varieties. Pour slowly to allow the sediments to remain in the bottle. Make every day Earth Day. Be something nice for your mother.

Typically American double IPA but with rye malt. Firm and stable, snow white head, colour misty orange blonde. Citrussy hop aroma, bitter honey, pine needles, peach, dried apricot, flowers. Taste at first with a soft maltiness, bit caramelly, fresh citrus and other fruit notes, complex, finishing powerfully yet very elegantly hoppy, with a long, complex bitterness. Excellent example of its style, I love this brewery.

Bomber received in trade. Thank you StefanSD! Spring 2014 ”vintage”. Pours very hazy deep yellow with a rather thin frothy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is very fruity with crackers, pink grapefruit juice, lychee, ripe gooseberries, freshly cut grass, pine needles, cape gooseberries, black currant leaves, resinous wood, lemon balm, dill, orange zest and mango. Taste is bitter and fruity with crackers, moist grass, ripe gooseberries, dew-covered black currant leaves, lychee, pine needles, grapefruit rinds, orange zest, lemon zest, resinous wood and hints of dried juniper berries and alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny astringent, dry, very tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and fruity with crackers, moist grass, gooseberries, grapefruit rinds, cape gooseberries, lychee, pineapple, mango, resinous wood, orange zest and lemon zest. Very different from the other HotD beers I’ve tried so far but this brewery keeps on impressing and shows they know how a solid IIPA should taste too.

Pour is a sickly, murky orange with almost no head. Aroma is a very pine forward hop. Flavor is chewy sweet malts with an underlying hop presence. The malt has a very husky grainy note that kind of overpowers any hop bitterness. Finish is a little sweet and syrupy. Not a bad beer and some may really enjoy this but I was expecting more of a eye opening hop presence.

Bottle (Winter 2014) poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy apricot yellow with half a finger of off-white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, stone fruit, citrus, floral. Tasting notes of big tropical fruit, citrus, caramel, pine, floral hops, little onion/garlic. Medium body with a semi-dry finish, juicy mouthfeel. Pretty nice DIPA.

Looks like plum juice. Very cloudy like unfiltered juice. Nose is very juicy. Simcoe and galaxy come to mind. Taste is mineral full bodied mouthfeel lots of champagne like characteristics. Grapefruit juice. Very nice acidity and clean finish. I quite like this one. Very close to hill farmstead abner.
