bottle pours thick black with a medium brown head that lasts the length of the glass. Aroma is big roast, some char and smoke as well. Flavor is big roast and coffee, oh boy is the coffee awesome in this stuff. Bitter espresso and bakers chocolate with hints of peppers in a tingly finish with just a touch of heat. Damn I wish I had more.

Bottle thanks to Peter! Pours black. Light tan head. Nose/taste of burnt coffee, mocha, toasted black malts and very light chipotle peppers. Body is thin and weak. Slightly dry bitter chocolate finish. Peppers are barely noticeable in the background.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a hazed deep brown body and a tan head. Aromas of spice, vegetal, pinto beans, chipotle, chocolate and bacon. Flavors are spicy, coffee beans, bitter and earthy. Lively bubbles with a touch of spice.

On tap. Pours with a small, tan head and a black body. Aroma of coffee, metal, bitter baking chocolate and vanilla been. Taste is strong bitter, and very dry, lightly smokey roasted coffee with chocolate and an odd hint of burn...did not know that this was a pepper beer. Creamy mouthfeel butt an dry burning finish. Decent but as far as LA area coffee beers, Requiem from Gentleman Scholar takes the cake!

Bomber pours mahogany with light tan head. The aroma has black strap molasses, dark roasted malts, a modest level of coffee and some chocolate. The taste is roasty for sure with dark roasted malts, a decent level of coffee and chocolate malts. Around the edges are sweet notes of molasses and malts. Nice stout with only a faint hint of chili like meat and really no chili heat to speak of.

Sample at Jackie O’s BBDA and Oil of Aphrodite Release and Barrel aged Beer Festival on 9/11/10. The beer pours black with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of charred malt, coffee and peppers. Medium body with flavors of smoked malt, roasted coffee and peppery undertones. The finish is roasty with a mild pepper burn left over. Pretty good overall, as the pepper character is subtle throughout.

22oz bomber poured into go a tall water glass. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet subdued molasses, coffee, which is light and not over the top. The aroma is dark and fumy, and no pepper. Flavor is again no pepper but some chocolate from the malts, coffee - fumy but very well done, not ashy or bitter. I look for the pepper which does not appear until a few minutes after drinking, in my throat there is a faint pepper burn. What I like particularly about this beer is a great soft and warm feel on the cheeks with a velvety feel down the throat. A nice brew, not as fun as I was hoping for and has a really nice mouthfeel.

Bomber from Pizza Port Bottle Shop. Pours black with a foamy tan head. Aroma is smooth burnt malt with spice notes. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt malt - really smooth - with a lot of chocolate, a little coffee, and a smattering of chipotle. Finishes chocolate with the chilies coming out more strongly. Interesting, but not intense.

cheers go out to tpd975 for sharing this uber goodness. Amazing how peppers and beer blend well when it is done right, and this is exactly what Bootleggers has done with this beer. 22oz bomber. Pours brown, mocha head. Aroma of pepper, nutty, malt and nice coffee roast, some lactic mocha notes can be noted. Flavors, I might be a sucker for this beer, but damn the palate was just fantastic, got a lot of cafe con leche notes sweet mocha/lactic coupled with a touch of warming peppers, some chocolate. Considering the 6.7% abv, everything just meshes together nicely without the coffee or chipotle overpowering the whole experience.
