A loaded mash tun provides a firm, slightly sweet malt flavor while copious amounts of resiny Yakima Valley hops go berserk on bitterness, flavor and aroma. Truly a Big, Bold, and Balanced double IPA.

Shared with ibrew2or3. thanks Dave. can version orange, off-white nice citrus hops, resiny/piney with a thick mouthfeel, mild grapefruit with some underlying pale malts adding with the hops an interesting mild bitter palate. Found the finish to be rather dry.

This was given to me by a friend while on vacation in Portland, OR; consumed while relaxing in Renton, WA. First off, the title and artwork on the can is fantastic. As for the beer, it’s a good DIPA. It’s got a caramel finish and has a good balance of hops & malt. It’s also very smooth, but it does have a bite that should be there with an 8% ABV beer. Very glad I consumed!

Can from Whidbey Beer Works. This can was a bit sticky after the flight back home, so leaks may be common. Certainly not drops, just sticky. Pours ruddy copper with a four finger foamy beige head. Aroma is resin. Medium plus body with lots of foamy/creamy carbonation. It’s lush. Smooth roast malt backbone with a load of resin bitter. But it’s smooth. Not harsh. Goes down a treat.
