Draft tasting glass @ In De Wildeman during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016! Very deep hazy orange, little lacing white head / bubbles. Nose is massive orange peel, sugar, moldy dirty brett. Taste is wet orange peel, moldy dirty brett, sugar, candy, orange peel. Sweet, moldy peel & bit watery body. Overly sweet & this brett strain feels too dirty for me. Expected more.

Bottle from Aeon Liquors Koenji. Stinky tropical hop nose with cat piss dominating alongside some light sudachi notes. Overly bitter on the palate, like licking a stick in the woods. Dirty and earthy as well. Something is not quite right. Not seeing anything from Modern Times, sorry. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brett Brett Double IPA (2015) on 10 Jun 2016 at 22:41 - Score: 6. Original review text: Lime and wood. Meh. Not really good to be honest. Slightly chalky on the palate.

Bottle @ LIBF’16. Shared with the RB Belgian team.

Bottle. Nose is brett, leather, hints of lemon, gooseberry, melon, pineapple hint of mango. Taste is lime, mango, tropical then a dry leathery brett, mint finish, with hints of pineapple, funk spice and pepper. There is a lot of malt in the body. Lots of interesting elements, but none of it really comes together. The brett and funk are nice, but it really doesn’t feel like a DIPA underneath this. It’s too malty and the supercharged IPA elements never really come through
