Draught. Nice consistency, coffee aroma, some chocolate. Tasted fantastic, a bit of a malty finish. Found it to be surprisingly good.

12 ounce bottle shared at a tasting. Clear dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of candy strawberries and toffee. The taste is dark fruit and caramel. Thin bodied.

Bottle, 2 years old. Dark brown with red and lace. Oxidized aroma, winy, with roasted malt, chocolate, berries and raisin. Flavor of wood, charcoal, roasty malt, dark chocolate. Very light body, think and fizzy. Decent. Probably better fresh.

Tap at Barcade. Pours dark brown/black with a thick, tan head. Nose is all roasted malts and some mocha. Flavor follows through with charming bitter malt character. Rich and almost creamy, this is a very smooth drink.

Courtesy of grandet. Pours deep dark brown with garnet edges and one minute tan head. The aroma is caramel laced with a bit of earthiness along with moderately roasted malts, grapes and plums. Enjoyable flavor bringing forth roasted malts eventually leading to dry burnt malts with milder notes of earthiness, caramel and faint dark fruitiness. It really dries out with highly roasted malts and mild dusty earthiness into the finish. After a few ounces it tends to end increasingly roasty to burnt.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet and very malty with notes of caramel and pumpernickle bread. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of pumpernickle bread combined with a light alcohol tickle on the palate, and also a light note of metal from the alcohol, leading to a bitter finish. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
