Ypsilanti has spring fever and this is just what the doctor ordered. A marriage of caramel, spicy, and alcohol flavors supported by a rich malt character. Deep brown with roasted nuts, caramel, and bready aromas. Crisp medium body with dark caramel, nuts, and citrus peel flavors. Finishes with a long, drying citrus and burnt sugar fade. Great smooth mouthfeel and lightness make this a wickedly drinkable Belgian-style "session" beer. 8.5% ABV.

sour version, on tap at MBGSF 2010. More bretty, more lambic like than their others sours. Got a really funky, dusty character. Really harsh in the finish, though. Sour, not at all acetic or lactic, but sour and dusty, horse blanket. Quite like a rough lambic.

Sampled at the MiBGSF ’10. Poured a cloudy amber with a brown head that started on edges. Aroma had note of wood, but mainly tart cherries and other berries stuck out with a bit of sour apple. Flavor was similarly sour with a plethora of fruits melding well together.
