Our take on the classic summer wheat beer...it’s a light, crisp ale for mowing lawns, hitting lazy fly balls and communing with nature. Glowing like brilliant rays of golden sun, its malty sweetness finishes tart and crisp. Hocus Pocus is best appreciated with a wedge of orange. Offered as a sacrifice to cloudless days.

Pours cloudy golden with a thick white head. Aroma of hops. Tastes like a wheat ale with some mild hop notes on the back of the tongue. Palate is devoid of anything but slight cereal and hop smatterings. Plain, well crafted.

Reviewed from old notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy golden orange color with a one finger white foamy head.
The aroma had a light deep wheatiness that kinda covers up everything else no matter how many times I had this.
The taste was basically the same that comes across fairly bland.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a hard to put down sessionability - too much wheat perhaps.
Overall, uh...for me I’m not a fan, probably wouldn’t come back to.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours clear deep golden with two finger white head. Aroma is caramel malt/crisp hops, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is lots of caramel malt and crisp hop finish. Not very hoppy for an American wheat ale, wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit this.

12 oz. bottle from mix 12 pack. Pours a slightly hazy gold. Nose is lots of wheat and grain. As it gets real warm I noticed a lot of honey aroma’s as well. The flavor is identical to the nose. I feel this is rated really harshly. It’s a bit better than some ratings imply. Yes, it is simple and light bodied, yet really refreshing with decent flavor. This bottle was still in code, so still fresh. I have NO problem finishing the other bottles.

Bland, predictable summer fair, but it was only $1.99 a sixer, so I’ll quit sounding like a condescending prick. Yeasty, with a tartness that plays off the weak malts and invisible hops. No hefe notions to be found, either. Okay, so I still sound like a condescending prick, but this beer’s pretty weak. (10/08)

Draught at MacGregor’s in Rochester. Pale golden color with lace. Golden malt aroma with wheat, light hops, butter and citrus. Nicely hopped flavor, but not too much. Creamy, buttery, wheat malt with fruit and citrus. A nice summer drink. Dry, fruity, lightly champagne-like finish.

Overall Impression: Haven't had this one for a for a while, but I remember it being a relatively average to below average Wheat Ale...
