Our take on the classic summer wheat beer...it’s a light, crisp ale for mowing lawns, hitting lazy fly balls and communing with nature. Glowing like brilliant rays of golden sun, its malty sweetness finishes tart and crisp. Hocus Pocus is best appreciated with a wedge of orange. Offered as a sacrifice to cloudless days.

Brown bottle, 3/4 of a pint; eye: straw, clear, a bit of effervescence, white head that disappears rapidly, a bit of lacing; nose: apple, citrusy, banana but all of them on the weaker side; mouth: tart, followed by a bit of bitterness, finale on the watery, thin side, with a hint of caramel appearing and the tart aspect lingering on and dominating, body thin to medium, good carbonation; overall: ordinary FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 3/4 d’une pinte; oeil : paille, claire, un peu d’effervescence, mousse blanche qui disparaît rapidement, petite dentelle; nez : pomme, agrumes, banane mais plus dans le faible que dans le fort; bouche : aigrelette, suivi d’un peu d’amertume, finale plutôt aqueuse avec une petite apparation de caramel et le côté aigrelet qui demeure et domine complètement, corps mince à moyen, bonne carbonatatio; en résumé : ordinaire

Bottle. Simple golden with a small head. Flavor of wheat and some sweetness... maybe a touch of clove. Nothing special here... kinda ordinary. Drinkable, but not exciting.

Pale golden, slight cloudiness, medium head. Almost no aroma at all, a touch of wheat. Very clean, even bland, but nice! Zesty and refreshing minty wheat malts, a touch of spicy hops, clean finish. Very typical but nicely done.

I am a wheat fan but only moderately fond of this brewer - and tend to be rather leery of American Wheat as a style. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a clear pale yellow color with only a trace of a white head that fades instantly. The aroma is faint malts and faint hops. The flavor is light malts and a hint of banana. A rather poor wheat.

Typical wheat beer hazy yellow with a big head. Hops with malt in the background in the aroma. Sweet start and finishes with a nice wheat tang.

Slightly hazy golden colour with orange highlights and a dense white head. Very nice hoppy aroma with sweet scents and even a bit of malt...nothing wrong with the aroma. Light to medium-bodied; Sweet flavour with some grassy hop characteristics and a light malt finish. Mild aftertaste, only a bit of the sweetness shows through and leaves the mouthful fairly dry. Overall, one of my favourite Magic Hat beers, I don't like most of their other beers, so this was a welcome change. To comment on the style, if this wasn't classified as a Wheat, I would have no idea...this isn't even close to a normal Wheat style. This particular beer was brewed in November 2002. I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.

Man, this beer smells, and even, initially, tastes like budweiser. Bland to the extreme, but leaves a decent, light finish. I guess, if I weren't into good beer, this would be great. Magic Hat really disappoints me with this one.
