Our Big Eye IPA is a big hoppy brew, thanks to the abundance of American Columbus and Centennial varieties we use to flavor and dry hop. While the English originally added extra hops to preserve their beers for sea travel, we do it for the love of all that bold, intense flavor that makes India Pale Ale one of our favorite styles.

Bottle at Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong, Bangkok. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt; big tropical citrus fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a rich, nettle resin hop, fruity palate and a long hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

$1.99 bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, Downtown. Pours orange with a nice spider-web-lacing off-white head. Aroma of orange, caramel malts. Taste is orange candy, licorice, pepper, caramel malts. I don’t get the hype. This is a top 98%-er IPA?

Flaska från Bishop Gustav. En sto IPA med massor av tallskott och aningen fotogenångande och citrusoljig men allt i rimligt proportiioner. Inte lika bar som Scuplin men ändå riktigt gott.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass. Appearance is clear copper with copious sparkle, finger-width foamy off-white head with good retention and decent lacing. Aroma is citrus, resin, tropical fruit, pine. Taste is as aroma. Palate is medium bodied with creamy texture, average carbonation with mix of sweet fruity/citrus and mild bitter resin finish. Overall, a little less flavor and bitterness than their Sculpin but perfectly fine dialed back like this.

Bottle. A- Pine, dank, grassy, orange, citrus. A- Burnt orange color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Pine, orange, strong bitterness. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Loads and loads of bitterness everywhere in this beer. I’d almost consider this a DIPA. For a hophead this would be devine. For me, it was decent but not my favorite.

355 ml. bottle @ Gollem. Clear orange golden, little white head. Nose is big chewy pine resin hop, very dank, big orange, such thick pine resin goop with some marmalade & orange peel sweetness in the back. Taste is great mix of first big pine resin goop, some bitter orange peel but massive pine resin goop candy balanced by Turkish delight sweetness, toffee, butterscotch, candied fruit, nice pleasant pine resin bitter finish. Thick chewy toffee & Turkish delight body. Works pretty well, very solid beer.
