Saranac Black & Tan is a judicious melding of our classic irish stout with an all-malt german-style amber lager. The result is a brew that is hearty, pleasantly bitter and full of flavor, yet can be enjoyed bottle after bottle. Our unique Black & Tan has multiple flavor notes... you may enjoy counting them. Enjoy!

Bottled. Pours clear, ruby-colored with a beige head. Roasted malt, toffee, coffee-notes and some fruityness in the aroma. The flavor is quite mellow, with coffee and roasted malt, and a dry, coffeeish finish and a fruity touch. Theres even some hints of butterscotch. Medium-bodied, dry mouthfeel. Decent. (070119)

12 oz bottle. Nice clear, very dark reddish body with a beige head. Pleasant sweet malty aroma. Flavor is slightly roasted malt, sweet, some coffee and a bit bitter. A fresh, well composed easy drinkable beer.

Looks like a stout... minus the head methinks. Head not as firm and frothy and all. Tastes quite bitter, I reckon, but not quite as bitter as your run of the mill stout. A little more watery than a stout, but that is a given Definately some hops in the taste. Good-o, not too bad.

Black & tan, I’m a fan. Interesting look in my three stooges glass. Was one kind of many in my trail variety case from Beer for Less in Moon. Very dark but you can see some sun thru it when you hold it up to the light. Could not detect much when sniffed. Tastes like a dark lager but, has a lingering bitter hops aftertaste just like the label says. Yuenglings black & tan is better and cheaper.

A dark brown beer with an OK brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of nuts, and some roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with quite a lot of roasted malt, giving it a dry mouthfeel, but also notes of cola, nuts, and a bit of soy sauce. The end is dry and quite roasted, but the body is a bit watery.

Dark black in color with a light creamy brown head. You can smell the rich dark malt aroma and sweet traits. Sour first taste bursts into rich malt flavor.
