Amber to brown color. Not much dark malt aroma or flavor, though. Very malty like a typical heller bock, but with more hops than usual. A long lasting hop finish. Nice, though not too original. Hops added something.

Malty aroma, nice reddish brown color, palate is thin...watery-like flavor, yet balanced properly...an average bock...good on the daily, a slight bitter finish

This is somewhere between a german dunkel, bock and american dark. It starts with a crisp orange-amber autumnal pour but with fading head. The aroma is nice and melanoidiny, but there seems to be a bit of crystal malt in there, rather than pure munich. There’s a touch of herbal hop character, almost too much for style but it doesn’t really detract from the beer. The palate is med-full and malty sweet. The finish is even and semi-sweet. I’d drink this again when in need of a dark lager.

This is only my fourth dunkler bock. I thought this was a heller bock when I bought it. 12 oz brown bottle that says dark lager on it. Has a slight smell of laundry water. Flows into an orange-red-brown color into my steeler stein. That is 320 ohms for you electrical geeks. Hardly any carbonation on visual inspection. First taste imparts no initial offensiveness but then it fades to a bitter hint. Finish is a bit bitter, for me. Better than Moretti La rosa but not as good as Schell Carmel bock.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with a very large soapy tan head that lingers and produces lots of lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with a vaguely vegetal undertone and hints of light fruits. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. the flavor is lightly sweet and malty with a vegetal undertone and a sour tangy finish.

eh, I dont like. Whats funny about this label is it says Bock and then below that it says dark lager. Well this pours amber, with a small head that quickly turns into a small amount of lacing. Its got that pale lager, empty know nothing almost swill like aroma. Taste isnt much better. hey at least its 6%. Kind of a disapointment in this 12 pack mixer. Not that these guys are supposed to stand out but its just seems like a lame attempt. But what will the Saranac fairy bring on next.....?
