An imperial IPA that was brewed to turn your world upside down. Hops will get you coming and going. Pungent aromatics up front pair with a malt-balanced backbone and a smooth, bitter finish.

Bottle. Nose is more muted than I expected citrus, lots of pineapple, slight bread. Taste is strong pine, grapefruit, lychee, sweet honey tones, herbs, floral notes, finish is bitter but is undercut with a little caramel and biscuit. Mouthfeel is rich. This is a good beer, but it is not up to some of the more recent double IPAs I have had - which is surprising given Founders are outstanding.

Bottle. Beermoth, Manchester. Hazy gold. Film of white head, that lasts to the end. Dank, orange hop. Light toffee. Hint of spice. Ripe fruit, and overripe banana in the background. Taste is spicy bitter. Some sweet. Palate is full, quite rich. A little boozy. Finishes oily bitter. Some dryness on the close. Not hugely vibrant, but nevertheless very tasty and drinkable.

Bottle. A- Bready, caramel, citrus, hoppy, malty. A- Copper color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Bready, caramel, citrus, bitter. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bready bitter finish. O- At first sip you get kicked in the teeth with the amount of hops in this beer. It starts out with a nice bready caramel palate that quickly turns into a fruity taste and then instantly leaves you with bitterness that tingles your tongue on the finish. Overall, this is a good beer, certainly not my favorite from Founders, but one I can appreciate.

This one can stand with the NW big boys. Nice citrus/pine aroma, dark golden color, small but sticky head, adequate lacing. Taste is right in the wheelhouse for a DIPA, again high ABV hides behind the hops. Very drinkable, smooth, mildly bitter. Packs a bit of a punch.

12 oz bottle. Pours a bright hazy gold, medium white head that dissipates quickly, no lacing. Big bitter grapefruit and pine aroma, with hints of pepper and caramel. Juicy dank hop flavor of grapefruit and pine with a solid malt backbone. Long bitter finish.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a somewhat hazy yet clear copper body with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dies. Carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace.
The smell had some pine hops, light mango, some light peppery spice.
The taste was bittersweet and peppery with the pine and citrus aspect combined fairly well, dry sweet aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, it sat at/about a medium, decent amount of carbonation on this bad boy, ABV not felt so its fairly sessionable.
Overall, this is a good DIPA, but still think there’s other DIPA’s out there that I like more. I’m glad I tried it.
