Tap at Local Option, Chicago. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast malt citrus fruit. The flavour is medium bitter with a malt liqourice alcohol palate. A nice beer but needs more complexity to be a great.

From a 355ml bottle on 27/9/2013. Pours an opaque golden with a small head. Has a very pleasant floral, citrus hop aroma. Flavourwise, this is marvelous, with masses of sweet citrus (orange, tangerine) and stone (apricot, peach) fruit, marmalade, honey against a light caramel malt background. The lingering, grapefruity hops balance things out beautifully, leaving you to savour the luscious, syrupy palate. The carbonation is standard for the style. Damn this is nice stuff, and a bit too easy to drink for 9.4%! Definitely up there with the best DIPAs I’ve tried to date.

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cloudy orange with an off-white head. Aroma of resinous and piney hops with some juicy grapefruit notes and some malt, a bit cookie-ish. Flavor has some chewy malt with some caramelly sweetness and light cookie notes, lots of piney and resinous hops and a big bitter finish, a bit citric, with some alcoholic notes. Medium-bodied. Big and bold but pretty easy-drinking for 9.4%. Quite nice.
